The Ant Philosophy

Quoting from Jim Rohn:
"I think everyone should study ants. They have an amazing four part philosophy.
First part: Ants never quit. They climb over, they climb under, they climb around. They'll keep looking for another way. They never quit.
Second part: Ants practise winter all summer. Summer can not last forever, so ants gather their winter food in the middle of summer.
Thirdly: Ants think summer all winter. During winter ants remind themselves "This won't last long. First warm day the ants are out. They can not wait to get out.
Fourth part: How much will an ant gather during summer to prepare for the winter? All he possibly can.
What an incredible philosophy, the "all-you-possibly-can"philosophy."

WOW what a great philosophy to have - the ant philosophy...
Never give up, Look ahead, Stay positive and Do all you can!

Life is an Adventure

Think of an adventure you might like to undertake.
Maybe it is a destination somewhere overseas or a major destination in your own country. Maybe it is to walk the Kokoda Track, Climb Mount Kilimanjaro or paddle down the Amazon.
Whatever it is for you, picture what that would take. Got it? Great.
Now apply the same characteristics of what a great adventure looks like to your own life.
By doing this you will shift your perspective and realise how your own life can be an adventure.

Lists

When you go shopping, you write a list.
You do this so that you will come back from the supermarket with what you want.
Try going to the supermarket without a list and you will come back without the things you needed, plus some.
Today is the day to take all your future plans and put them down on paper.
When you can visually see what it is you have chosen to do, you will be automatically drawn towards achieving those choices.
List do work! They work for the supermarket and they work for life.

Letter

In our world of emails and instant messaging, a hand written letter can be a welcome relief.
A type written letter will never provide the entire picture; each letter, a laser copy of each other letter, so perfectly formed, can not convey the emotional warmth that comes from imperfect handwriting, where a difference in style could signal an uplifting feeling or deepest despair.
Nothing expresses respect for another than a hand written letter, and no love email, text message or cell phone call will ever be carefully bundled into a memory box to be loved, admired and re-read for years to come.
So, get started and write to someone. Start with a simple Thank You note.
Everyone loves finding a letter from a friend or loved one in amongst their pile of bills!

Lackadaisical

You are in life where your thoughts and actions during the past few years have bought you.
Whatever you experience in the next five or ten years will be influenced by what you do today.
Is your attitude to life Lackadaisical?
Definition: lacking spirit, liviness or interest.
When you reflect on the things you do on a daily basis, can you honestly say that you do your best, you give all you've got, you do it with joy, enthusiasm and zest.
The funny thing about life is that if you refuse to accept anything but the best, that is very often what you get!
Be the best you can be!

Look

Bob Marley wrote in the lyrics for his song Exodus ... "Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're leading?"
Your vision will become clear only when you look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams: who looks inside awakes.
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Legacy

Picture your family gathering five years after your death! What will it look like? What will they be talking about? How will they remember you?
What will be the quality of their lives and how will you have been instrumental in that?
These are the questions you can ask yourself now, while you are still alive and reading this.
Our lives do make a difference to the lives of others! This is a tremendous reason to look at how you are living your life.
We want to be able to look back on life and say that we accomplished so much and that our lives benefited others!
